To ensure the longevity and hygiene of your Cruise Everyday wheelchair cushion cover, follow these manufacturer-approved cleaning and maintenance guidelines:

Cleaning Instructions

Spray and Wipe Down (EZ Care Cover):

  • Use a gentle spray disinfectant suitable for fabric materials
  • Spray evenly over the surface of the cover
  • Wipe down with a clean, soft cloth until all residues are removed
  • Allow the cover to air dry completely before use.

Hand Wash (Mild Cleaning):

  • Remove the cover from the cushion
  • Use warm water combined with a mild detergent
  • Gently hand wash the cover, focusing on areas with stains or spots
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent residues
  • Air dry the cover in a well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent color fading

Machine Wash (Deep Cleaning/Disinfecting):

  • Remove inserts before placing the cover in the washing machine
  • Use a hot water cycle and a common laundry detergent for a deep clean
  • After washing, tumble dry the cover on a low heat setting to prevent shrinking or damage to the fabric

Important Notes:

  • Do NOT steam clean, autoclave, or iron the covers as these methods can cause irreversible damage to the fabric and compromise the structural integrity of the cover.
  • Never submerge the foam in any liquid (water included)
  • For the best results, it is recommended to clean the cover as needed, depending on usage frequency and the environment in which the cushion is used.
  • Regular cleaning ensures not only hygiene but also the extended life of your Cruise Everyday wheelchair cushion cover.

Thank you for choosing the Cruise Everyday wheelchair cushion. Proper maintenance will ensure a comfortable and clean experience every time.

Considerations When Selecting a Wheelchair Cushion
  • The clinical and functional objectives of the User are of primary importance when selecting a wheelchair cushion. User needs to be considered include, but are not limited to: skin health, positioning needs, mobility, transfer status, ADLs, bladder control, and cognitive status.
  • The cushion dimensions should match the wheelchair seat width (side-to-side) & depth (front to back) in order to ensure proper function.
  • Follow cushion weight guidelines to ensure the product provides appropriate support, protection, and comfort.
  • The cushion height should be considered along with its impact on:
    • Seat-to-floor height, especially for people who propel their wheelchair with their feet
    • User’s position relative to armrests
    • User’s position relative to footrests
    • User’s position relative to wheelchair back

Considerations for Maintaining a Wheelchair Cushion
  • Periodic inspection of wheelchair cushions for wear is recommended. Replace when needed.

Effective wheelchair seating interventions improve safety and comfort, as well as help people engage the world in a healthy, dignified, and meaningful manner.
