Cleaning Instructions

Spray and Wipe Down (EZ Care Cover):

  • Use a gentle spray disinfectant suitable for fabric materials
  • Spray evenly over the surface of the cover
  • Wipe down with a clean, soft cloth until all residues are removed
  • Allow the cover to air dry completely before use.

Hand Wash (Mild Cleaning):

  • Remove the cover from the cushion
  • Use warm water combined with a mild detergent
  • Gently hand wash the cover, focusing on areas with stains or spots
  • Rinse thoroughly to remove all detergent residues
  • Air dry the cover in a well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight to prevent color fading

Machine Wash (Deep Cleaning/Disinfecting):

  • Remove inserts before placing the cover in the washing machine
  • Use a hot water cycle and a common laundry detergent for a deep clean
  • After washing, tumble dry the cover on a low heat setting to prevent shrinking or damage to the fabric

Important Notes:

Considerations For Offloading Heel Pressure for In-Bed Patients
When strategizing heel pressure offloading techniques for in-bed patients, the primary focus should be on the clinical and comfort needs of the individual. Aspects that should be attentively assessed include skin integrity, mobility restrictions, blood circulation, and the individual’s overall comfort and positional preferences.

The offloading device’s dimensions should ideally match the width and length of the patient’s lower leg to facilitate proper alignment and pressure distribution. Proper fitting aids in preventing potential skin breakdown and promotes healing of existing pressure injuries.

Adhering to the weight guidelines of the selected offloading device is vital to ensure it offers the necessary support and protection without compromising comfort. Consistent weight distribution is key to preventing pressure ulcers and facilitating healing.

The height of the offloading device needs to be considered with regards to its impact on:

  • Leg-to-mattress height, particularly for patients who are able to reposition themselves using their legs
  • Patient’s position relative to side rails
  • Patient’s position in relation to adjustable bed features
  • Patient’s ease of transfer to and from the bed

Considerations for Maintaining a Heel Lift
Routine inspection of offloading heel devices for signs of wear and tear is strongly recommended to maintain its efficacy. Replacement should be timely to prevent potential complications.

Effective offloading interventions not only improve safety and comfort but also empower individuals to engage in recuperative and rehabilitative efforts with dignity and efficiency.
